FM Logistic Ibérica has obtained the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification in its complete modality (AEOF, which combines customs simplifications and security and protection), granted by the Tax Agency.
This certification, recognized by the World Customs Organization (WCO), accredits FM Logistic as a trusted economic operator for customs authorities and for all members of the international logistics chain.
A recognition of excellence and security
The role of Authorized Economic Operator was created after the attacks of September 11, 2001, with the aim of strengthening security in international trade by ensuring a balance between customs controls and the facilitation of legitimate trade.
With this certification, FM Logistic Ibérica consolidates its position as a secure, reliable, and transparent logistics partner, capable of offering its customers greater agility in customs procedures, fewer physical and documentary checks, and a smoother relationship with customs authorities.
“AEO certification reinforces our commitment to operational excellence, security, and trust. It is another step forward in our mission to offer global, sustainable, and secure logistics solutions, contributing to a more efficient supply chain for all our customers,” said Leire Armendáriz, Technical and Commercial Director at FM Logistic Ibérica.
A guarantee of reliability and compliance
To obtain AEO certification, companies must pass a thorough audit by the Administration that evaluates aspects such as:
Operator’s integrity and reliability.
Proven financial solvency.
Professional competence of the team.
High standards of safety and security.
In addition, certified companies must maintain the required standards at all times, inform the Administration of any changes that may affect the authorization, and implement internal control and continuous improvement systems.
Benefits and ongoing commitment
Recognition as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEOF) offers multiple advantages:
Priority and simplification in customs procedures.
Fewer physical and documentary inspections.
Greater security and traceability in the logistics chain.
Better communication and collaboration with customs authorities.
The authorization has no time limit, although it is subject to periodic supervision and re-auditing by Customs to ensure that compliance standards are maintained.
